Releasing a Jazz album has been a dream of mine for many years; I think for a long time, I've always been drawn to Jazz, but really never pursued much in this area, especially, as for years, my sights were a bit limited in the work I chose to pursue; until of recent, finding the courage to walk a path of my own, following a quiet calling towards work that inspires me.
"As The Seasons Change", the title of my upcoming album, I found to be such a fitting tribute to my personal, spiritual, and artistic journey, in this season of personal change for me. Though my seasons of change, have been slowly happening for a few years, it felt a fitting tribut to this album.
Third Stream Jazz, a section of Jazz not well known by most, is a fusion of jazz & classical; I like to think of it as: classical meets jazz, ha! Finding the music for this album alone was such a great journey of discovering new music, feeling such kindredness in these marvelous & curated songs, that I have compiled to form this album; equally, recording the music & working with my pianist, Jane, over the last few months, have been such a cathartic time in my life, encompassing such personal feelings of trust, collaboration, ease, & safety as I have journeyed into this new area of music.
The album has been a great labor of love, & I am so excited to share this with you all on this very special Autumn Equinox; presenting "As The Seasons Change"!
